Jr Reign Take Over February
The Jr. Reign had a strong showing over President’s Day weekend, earning multiple podium finishes across three tournaments. Competing at the President’s Day Open in Southern California, the club secured two championship titles and four runner-up finishes. Meanwhile, in Colorado, another Jr. Reign team claimed a championship victory, with one more finishing as runner-up. It was a weekend of hard-fought battles and impressive performances, highlighting the team’s dedication and skill on the ice.
A big shoutout goes to the three 8u teams in Riverside that came up just short in the championship games - 8uB4, 8uB2 and 8uA. Reaching the finals at the final tournament of the year shows great determination and continued improvement from the beginning of the season. In addition, congratulations are in order for the Westminster 8uB3 on winning their division in Riverside - a hard working team that pushed themselves to reach the gold! Lastly, although they came up short, the 14a Riverside team earned runner up in their division!
As for the traveling teams, the Jr Reign had massive success in Colorado - a trip out of state for the first time in many years. The 12uA Riverside team came out on top in their division, an accomplishment that they will remember forever. The 10uA Riverside team also reached the finals in their division and came up just short. Although they didn’t earn gold, this is a tremendous accomplishment and will provide a lasting memory.
Lastly, we want to acknowledge a great weekend for our teams that participated in the California State games down in San Diego. The California state games have been around for a long time and is one of the most competitive youth hockey events in the nation. The 10uB Carlsbad teams ended up making it to the championship where they came away with a silver medal, a great accomplishment considering the stakes of this event. In addition, the 8uA and 10uA Carlsbad teams left with the bronze medal. Great effort from all involved!
As the winter season comes to an end, we look forward to having everyone participate in our annual spring program - where players are able to take part in their new age group and meet the coaching staff of that group. For more information, please Click Here
